Mike and Cherie have the amazing privilege to serve in Papua New Guinea. Both were raised in Christian families. Throughout their upbringing, they were exposed to Christ and modeled ministry in the local church and in missions. Both Mike and Cherie accepted Christ as their personal savior. Cherie went to Papua New Guinea with New Tribes Mission (now Ethnos 360) in the summers of 1988, 1989, and 1991. Mike went to Papua New Guinea in the winter of 1991.
Both Mike and Cherie were challenged to missions on those short term missions trips. Later they both attended New Tribes Missions Bible School, where they both met and later married. God continued to grow them spiritually as they worked in various Jobs and raised a wonderful family.
From Feb 2012 – October 2013 Mike and Cherie took their family to serve in Papua New Guinea fulfilling critical needs. While there, Mike took on construction projects allowing tribal missionaries to focus on their work, as well maintaining the the Interface Base in the Highlands, then the Madang center on the coast. Cherie took on the responsibility of cooking for Missions conferences, and students at the Interface Base. Later on in Magang Cherie managed guest housing for missionaries taking much needed rest from their challenging ministries. Cherie was also involved in teaching national ladies modern cooking skills, sewing, and Hygiene.
The Peachey’s returned to PNG in 2015 and 2019 completing various work projects. In 2015 Mike built the kitchen at the new Interface base (which had moved from the Highlands to Madang). Then in 2019 Mike and Cherie helped with the building of the RVA national school in Madang. Papua new Guinea holds a special place in their hearts. They desire to be a part of what God is doing with tribal missions in Papua New Guinea.
Mike uses his construction and maintenance skills to build new houses in the bush for newly allocated families. He will be part of the center maintenance on the missions support center where they live. He will also be maintenance support for the national school RVA Center.
Cherie will be in charge of housing on center. For new missionaries coming into PNG and for missionaries coming out of the bush for a much needed break and supplies. Cherie will also interact with national ladies and teach them skills. Also helping Mike with maintenance.
“We at Ethos 360 and Ramu Valley Academy (RVA) are excited to receive Mike and Cherie Peachey back to the field of Papua New Guinea. The Peachey’s have previously been a huge help to our cross cultural Tribal Church Planting ministries here in assisting with various projects both on our mission center and in our village church, including building our bush house in the village and helping with the village literacy building. Their hearts to serve joyfully and their hands that can get the work done definitely provide the support needed and lifts burdens among our church planting teams. Thank you for sending them back to us!”
